Growing Pot where it's hot!

Spring is almost here–time for outdoor grow prep is fleeting…

I’m a dual zone grower…I usually have an indoor & outdoor grow going. Outdoor prep has to be done in advance of spring before it gets warm. I prefer to “hedge my bets” and not “have my eggs in one basket”. Putting aside corny cliches, I use my indoor space as a season starter (clones and seedlings) as well as specialty grow like auto flowers or pollen flips. The outside grow area is generally reserved for photo period plants.

Having the 2 areas allows me easy space for my 12 allotted legal plants with 2 adults residing in the house. If the outdoor grow has a failure or setback I still have my indoor grow as fallback/safety. Lately its been bad weather & leaf-hoppers, but fence hoppers can be an issue too.

The plants in this post are clones of the afghani-kalimist from the earlier seed stock. The biggest are about thigh-high and will be ready for the outdoors by March. The head start really helps. An established plant has a better chance vs a seed sprout in the elements.

Just in case , I have a backup tray of clones so more of the same.
